Cairotronica, Cairo. 2018
An interactive sound sculpture allows visitors to play their music and messages directly through it.
Developed during an artist residency at Darb1718 Contemporary Art Center in Cairo
Interaction happens 2 ways:
- via bluetooth technology and their smart phones visitors can also play their songs „live“ through one of the channels.
- via a direct „line in“ jack: local musicians and performers can give concert events that happen in and around the sculpture.
The sound volume is adjustable via a mixing board.
Equipment: 300 recycled boom boxes, cassette players, and loudspeakers (see supply source at Friday market in Cairo), 4 Bluetooth receivers, 1 amplifier, 1 mixing board .
